Meet Dr. Cox
Dr. Dana Cox began her fulfilling career in veterinary medicine in 1998 after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. She joined Dr. Wayne Smith in 1999 and knew immediately that Smith Veterinary Hospital was where she was going to call home. Upon his retirement, Dr. Smith passed his hat over to Dr. Cox, and she is proud to uphold his reputation of delivering the highest quality client service and medicine. Dr. Cox leads a wonderful team of talented and compassionate veterinary healthcare professionals and cares for her patients as though they were her own.
Dr. Cox is also actively involved in the National Wildlife Centre, a non-profit wildlife hospital founded by her sister Dr. Sherri Cox. She and her team often help to care for a variety of injured wildlife.
Dr. Cox and her husband live in Caledon with their beloved beagle ‘Bea’, and their four rescue dogs. Her compassion for all animals is the reason she enjoys a vegetarian lifestyle. When not at the hospital, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, and nature appreciation excursions including scuba diving and wildlife photography.
